8 Ways to do Vegas Without Gambling!

Vegas

Hi Loves,

I had the best 4 day, 3 night excursion in Vegas! Most of all, I had it while traveling solo! Well in all honesty, one of my colleagues attended but he brought his lady, so our interaction was limited. However, I learned so much about my own capacity to travel without the crutch of needing a companion. I’m not saying having a partner isn’t fun, but I guess this time around, my mind and heart was fully open to the world around me, and the universe embraced me with open arms! It’s the little things that God will do, isn’t it? 20140718-204704-74824550.jpg

However, before taking off, I asked a few friends if they would like to come with me and one of told me no because there is nothing to do besides gambling. Of course Vegas, also known as Sin City, is predominantly known for their casinos, but I thought to myself, there has to be more to do than that. Though I’ve been to Vegas before, my immersion time was quite limited. Therefore after being able to experience Vegas this time around, I created this list to prove that there is more to Vegas than just slot machines! So come take this journey with me as I detail 8 ways to do the infamous sin city without losing money or your values!

1. Even the flight to and from can bring unexpected encounters: My journey began with a gentleman I met on a plane who is a sports talent manager. He was on his way to Vegas to meet his basketball player who was at the Lebron James training camp getting shaped, groomed, and prepared for the next NBA draft. Now, I am not a huge sports fan even though I do enjoy basketball every now and then, but I am pretty sure I had a rare encounter. Then how about on the way back, I met someone who builds rockets…like literal rockets! He was sent to Utah for 24 hours to work at that station. I think meeting him confirmed that this entire trip was worth going alone!

2. Where there is Cirque du Soleil, there is death defying entertainment: I wish I could have taken some photos of what I experienced at Cirque du Soleil’s KA. All I can tell you it was epic stunts that leave you breathless and your jaw dropped! The rest you have to experience on your own! Good thing they have several shows up and down the Vegas strip so there is something for everybody.

3. Vegas is the mecca of culinary couture: I mean, only in Vegas, does the food taste like every meal was prepared by Top Chef Masters! I wanted to ask the waiters if I missed something. Uh, is Gordon Ramsey back there making my food? Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is one of the many dining experiences I had, and even there tasted like a skilled chef cooked it, and that’s a franchise! 20140718-210451-75891208.jpgPeople, I had a Tiramisu milkshake from Holsteins in the Cosmopolitan hotel and it tasted like dessert in a cup! Now tell me where you ever seen or heard of that! I was chomping  on that and French fries right after seeing KA at the MGM! Holsteins

4. Poolside living is for all of us:
No need to go the hot desert state, experience temps in the 100’s, and not want to get wet. Hello!!! Vegas is made for poolside days and hot tub nights.

20140718-211843-76723217.jpgT5. he best encounters are the Vegas ones: Whether celebrating a marriage or a divorce, a birthday, or a vacation, one thing for sure happens, someone will embrace you. It could be the drunk high five or the burden of losing a couple hundred at the blackjack table, people will tell you about it. Organic interactions happen all the time in Vegas and I spent most of time meeting ladies, gentlemen, and everything in between. It was all worth it cause I’m now connected with some truly fun people!

6. Vegas nightlife is for all of us at any age:
One word “Tao” baby! It’s where the action happens, but don’t limit your experience as the Vegas strip is filled with plenty nightclubs who pack a good crowd.

7. Who said shopping only needs to happen before arriving:
Vegas has everything you could ever want to buy. The strip is laid with everything from Gucci to a recently opened Marshalls. So feel comfortable knowing that it something there for any budget. The one thing I noticed about the way guest travel is either that they are over the top and look like they just walked off a runway or their wardrobe is relaxed to point that you question whether they gambled their clothing budget. You be the judge and tell me what you notice next time your there.

8. Living is for the adventurous and I’m just a little scared:
To say no that is! Whether it the Observation Wheel next to the Venetian hotel, zip lining from Rio, or roller coaster riding at New York New York, make your vacation days your best days! Nothing says fearless like rolling off the top of a building!

Until next time!

Dreaming of the Maldives Islands

Hey Loves,

It seems that whenever my mind is idle or have a drifted thought, I am always drawn to traveling. The destination this time, the Maldives Islands. It has been on my list of places to go ever since coming across a special on HGTV that was highlighting one of their premier hotel villas. The Maldives is located in the Indian Ocean and is comprised of 1200 islands in which only a couple hundred are inhabited. Even though, I wish to book my trip like tomorrow, I think that this destination would best suite me as a honeymoon or anniversary getaway. Take a visual journey with me as I am dreaming of the Maldives Islands!
